Some cities are stacked every single night. Others, you might be checking for a few days before something worth reaching out to comes through. If you travel for work, if you're planning a trip, or if you're honestly just curious whether your own city is any good — here's how it actually breaks down based on what I see on Secret Hostess day to day and city to city.

The big six

These are the cities where you can browse basically any night of the week and find plenty of options across every category.

New York — and it's not even close. The volume here is a different universe. Manhattan and Brooklyn are busiest, but Queens and the Bronx have steady traffic too. Whatever you're looking for — specific age range, body type, availability at 2am on a Wednesday because you couldn't sleep — NYC probably has it live right now. Function of having eight million people in one place. I checked once at 3:30am on a random Tuesday and there were 40+ fresh ads. That doesn't happen anywhere else.

LA — second in raw numbers but the geography kills you if you're not paying attention. Ad says "LA" and she's actually in the Valley, and now you're staring at a 45-minute drive from downtown. Read the neighborhood in the ad body, not the tag. Hollywood, DTLA, and the Westside are where most of the action lives.

Houston — the one that surprises everybody the first time they check. Consistently one of the most active cities on the site. The I-10 and I-45 corridors, Midtown, the Galleria area — all generate a ton of ads. Weekends especially. Houston punches well above what any first-timer would guess.

Chicago — reliable year round. The Loop, River North, and along the Blue Line are the hotspots. Winter slows it down slightly but way less than you'd think. People still go out in February in Chicago. They just complain about it more.

Miami — spikes during tourist season and spring break but the baseline volume is solid every month. South Beach, Brickell, and Doral are the busy areas. The mix of local providers plus women flying in for the weekend keeps rotation constant.

Dallas-Fort Worth — huge beneficiary of being a business travel hub. Area around DFW airport and both downtowns stays busy. Weekday volume is unusually strong because of the corporate and convention crowd passing through Sunday to Thursday.

Consistently good

Not quite the volume of the big six, but you won't have trouble finding someone on any given day.

Vegas — I mean, obviously. High volume, constant turnover, huge population of providers who fly in for weekend runs. Strip-adjacent hotels dominate but Henderson and Summerlin have locals posting too.

Atlanta — probably the strongest scene in the Southeast. Buckhead, Midtown, and the airport corridor. Weekends are noticeably busier than weekdays but even Tuesday nights are fine.

Phoenix — sleeper pick that surprises a lot of guys. The metro is enormous and posting volume matches. Scottsdale, Tempe, central Phoenix — all active. My old college roommate lives out there and swears by it.

Denver — grown a lot in the last few years, roughly tracking the whole population boom. Downtown and the I-25 corridor are where to look.

San Diego — steady volume, weekends especially. The Gaslamp Quarter area is the hub. Military bases and border proximity keep the scene going all year.

Solid, but you might need to check back

Nashville, Charlotte, Tampa, Orlando, San Antonio, Portland, Seattle, Minneapolis, Baltimore, Philly — all have active pages with real ads coming through regularly. Two moves that work here. First, expand your radius a bit. If your town's page is quiet, check the nearest bigger city. A 25-minute drive to a real metro is almost always worth it. Second, check regularly. The ad you'd want might go up tomorrow. If you're not looking, somebody else messages first.

When to check, by city size

Big cities: ads flow all day, dip from about 3am to 9am, peak around lunch and again 9pm-to-midnight. You can pretty much check whenever and find something fresh in the mix.

Mid-size: tighter window, most posting happens 11am to 8pm with a second wave Friday and Saturday nights. Sunday evenings are weirdly active in college towns — probably because the college kids scatter and locals come back out.
