How to Message on Secret Hostess and Actually Get a Reply
Okay so — the number one thing I hear from guys who don't get responses on Secret Hostess is "these women never answer." Every time. And every time I ask to see one of the messages they sent and it's some variant of "hey beautiful" at 1am with no other context. Then they're mad the reply rate is 0%. Brother. Come on.
I've had a couple of provider friends over the years show me what their inboxes look like at peak hours. I'm not exaggerating when I say more than half the messages get deleted after literally the first line. So the bar for standing out is on the floor. You just have to clear it, and it takes like ten minutes to learn.
Think about her side for one second
She posted the ad two hours ago. She now has 38 new messages, 4 of which are from actual people. She has about ten seconds per message to decide if it's worth replying. What she's looking for: is this a real guy, does he seem chill, does he know what he's asking for, and can we actually make a meeting happen tonight?
That's the whole filter. If your message answers those four things in three sentences you're already ahead of like 95% of the inbox. Send "hey" or "you up beautiful" and she doesn't even finish reading. Doesn't matter what the rest of the message says. She's already onto the next one.
The actual message that works
I've been sending some version of this for years. Adjust to your own voice, keep the structure:
"Hi, saw your ad — I'm around after 8 tonight and would love an hour incall if you have room. Been using Secret Hostess a while, respectful, easy meeting. Let me know if that works."
Three sentences. Tells her who you are (real, experienced client, not a first-timer landmine), when you're free, what you want, and that you're not going to be a pain. Done. She either has room or she doesn't. Either way she'll reply — because she has a real thing to reply to instead of a "hey" that requires her to write the entire opening for you.
What kills your reply rate instantly
Opening with anything explicit. I don't care how much you think it's a "compliment." She's a professional, and starting the conversation like you're in a chat room reads as clueless. Save it for after the meeting.
Asking for a "sample," a preview, a free anything. This is the single fastest ban-hammer in the inbox. Nobody in any business responds well to "prove your service is real by giving me part of it for free." It's absurd when you write it out. Don't do it.
Negotiating rate in message one. Her rate is in the ad. If it's not, you can ask politely — but leading with "what's your best price" is the digital version of walking into a nice restaurant and asking for a discount before you sit down. She's going to seat someone else.
Writing your life story. She doesn't need to know you just got divorced or that you drive a 2019 F-150 or that you played JV baseball. Save it. Post-meeting small talk, sure. First message, no.
The follow-up rule (very important)
Send the message. Leave it alone. If she's interested, she'll reply within a couple of hours (usually much sooner). If she doesn't reply, sending a "hello???" three hours later is the fastest way to poison whatever tiny chance you had left. She saw the first one. The non-reply was the reply.
Move to the next ad. Cities on Secret Hostess have plenty of options — pick a couple, message them all, one will land. Chasing one specific woman who ghosted is guaranteed to burn your night. I've watched friends do this and each time it ends with them alone at 11pm being annoyed at the world.
Once she replies, don't blow it in the follow-up
The single most common way a good exchange dies after a good first reply: guys get weird. She replies, you're in the door, and then instead of just pinning down time and location you spend forty minutes texting back and forth about what's going to happen in the room. That's not building anticipation. That's making her uncomfortable and about half the time she just stops replying because it started feeling off.
Confirm the time. Confirm the address. Tell her you'll text when you're ten minutes out. Done. That's the whole conversation. Show up on time. That last part more than anything else — being late without a heads-up is the fastest way to burn a provider you'd want to see again.
Volume solves nerves
If messaging feels nerve-wracking, the answer is not to write one "perfect" message to one woman. It's to send five short, polite messages to five different women in one sitting. You'll get at least one response, usually more, and after a few of those it stops being a big deal. Classifieds work on volume — for her and for you — and treating it like a numbers game instead of a first date makes the whole thing way easier.
Brand new to the site? First-timer walkthrough is the foundational read. And before you send anything, the safety guide covers the do's and don'ts that keep you out of trouble.
Alright — go try it. Pick your city, pick two or three ads, send real messages. You'll be surprised how fast it works.
